Jarred Cosart was a Clear Creek ballplayer who graduated in 2008.  He was drafted into the Phillies organization in June of 2008 and has gone about aggressively gaining positive attention in his performance within their farm system.

Jarred Cosart, 2008

Baseball America noted that Cosart topped the list of Gulf Coast League's Top 20 Prospects - landing at an overall #4, and listed first in the Phillies system:

The Phillies have an affinity for signing raw athletes who offer projection but require plenty of polish, so it was no surprise that they led all organizations with four players on our GCL list: righthander Jarred Cosart, first baseman Jonathan Singleton, outfielder Domingo Santana and shortstop Jonathan Villar.

Further coverage of Cosart is published in the Phillies Top 10 Prospects:

After winning a second World Series championship in 2008, Philadelphia figured out how to put together a strong encore.

The Phillies also have used prospects in trades, as was the case in 2009 with Lee, 2008 with Joe Blanton and after the 2007 season with Brad Lidge. The deals have thinned out the system, yet Amaro made sure to keep his top position prospect (outfielder Domonic Brown) and pitching prospect (righthander Kyle Drabek) out of the Lee trade. Throw in emerging catchers Travis d'Arnaud and Sebastian Valle, Triple-A outfielder Michael Taylor and young, power arms Jarred Cosart and Trevor May, and Philadelphia still has impact talent on the farm.

Congrats, Jarred!  It won't be long before we're watching you on ESPN!
