Clear Creek Wildcats Baseball

On November 17, 2008, senior Shawn Blackwell officially signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with Kansas University. The official early signing period for baseball is Nov 12th to Nov 19th. Gerald Blackwell remarked that he is very proud of his son for attaining one of his long-term goals, the opportunity to play baseball for Kansas, his mother's home state.

A signing reception was held at 3:00 p.m. in the Clear Creek High School library. It was attended by several current Creek baseball players, 2008 Creek graduate Jarred Cosart and his parents, Creek baseball coaches, Tim Collins, the baseball booster club president, and several Creek teachers. Also present were members of Shawn's family: his parents, two sisters, two nephews and an aunt.

Shawn presented Coach Mallory with a KU Jayhawk hat (see photos below).

Congratulations, Shawn!  Clear Creek is proud of your success and know you will go far!

Clear Creek pitchers, if they are any good, are supposed to go to Baylor. If you don't believe me, ask Steven White and Mark McCormick.
