Clear Creek Wildcats Baseball

Hello Wildcats!  It's time to start ramping up for our next season.  Please mark your calendars for next Tuesday night, October 6th, at 7:30 PM and be sure to attend. Check your email - all this info went out today.  If you did NOT get an email about the meeting, please send an email containing all your contact info (including cell numbers and emails for both parents, if applicable) to the webmaster.

All the details about the meeting are below the fold.

WHEN:  Tuesday, October 6th, 7:30 PM

WHERE:  The meeting room behind Esteban's.  [Note:  Esteban's is on FM 518, across the street from Palais Royal.]

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: 

• We will attend to Booster Club business right off the bat, and get that wrapped up.  Our new goal for this year is to limit meetings to 45 minutes!  Everyone is invited to stay for a Q & A with the coaches, after we close Club business.
• We need class reps to help us stay in good communication with all parents.  The rep will ensure everyone has updated contact info, and help everyone stay in touch via email.  We don't want any player or family to fall through the cracks!
• We have several committees that need volunteers:  Merchandise, Concessions, Programs, Meet the Wildcats, Photo and Video Imagery, Baseball Banquet, Golf Tournament, Sponsorships, etc.  Our goal is to get one volunteer from each class on each committee, thus spreading out the responsibilities and work load.  We don't want to stick the usual folks with all the work, because none of us need a second unpaid job, right? Besides,  ALL of our sons reap the benefits.
• Q & A's for the Coaches:  be sure to have any questions ready, because this may be the last time you see all the coaches in one place at the same time.  :)
• We hope to have some Creek baseball caps on hand for anyone who would like to buy one for their son.  If we have any left over from last year, they will be at this meeting.

We invite all parents to join us for a quick meeting laying out the agenda for the next year.  You will find out our fund-raising goals and all the activities coming up.  More importantly, you will find any number of ways to get involved.  We need your help!  The parents are what really make the difference in Creek's baseball program.  We are the ones who provide top-notch training equipment, like the Iron Mikes for the boys to use any time of the day.  We are working toward covering the batting cages, to protect from sun and rain.  This year we order new uniforms for the Varsity.  If the coach needs something for Wildcat Field, we are the ones who provide the work and the money.  So, if you want to know what's going on in Creek baseball, the Booster Club is the place to find out.

Head Coach Jim Mallory, Assistant Varsity Coach Eddie Youngblood, and Junior Varsity Coach Chad Abernathy will all be on hand to answer your questions about the baseball life at Creek.  Also, this is a good chance to meet other parents in the program and make friends.  Once you're plugged in, supporting Creek baseball becomes a "family affair"!

Everyone:  The Booster Club will treat everyone to chips, salsa, and con queso, and provide tea and water. 

Freshman Parents:  There is a Freshman Orientation meeting scheduled at the high school at 6:00 PM.  We are aware of that, and assure you that your meeting will be done by 7:00 PM, in plenty of time to skip over to Esteban's BY 7:30.

Parents Already In The Program:  This is a new year, and a new energy.  We would love to reconnect and find out what we can do to encourage even more involvement this year.  For instance, one of the steps we've taken is to try out a new night to meet, leaving your Wednesday nights free.  We're also looking at spreading out the work load and trying out some bright, new ideas.  Let us know what you think.  Do you have an idea that's been percolating?  Now's the time to try it out - we're looking for new ways of doing things and new things to do!

So...mark your calendars.  And we'll see you Tuesday night at 7:30!
